Unlike many other archaeological sites of Greece, the Methoni castle is a vast, open space, with pockets of interest scattered around, mostly hidden.
I’m finally back to Corfu and spending here the last evening of my short, but exciting adventure. Exploring this part of Greece was a lot of fun!
The view from the Vikos gorge looking out to Epirus is amazing. I could almost touch the cloud as it passed above.
My last encounter before taking off, was with the Father of the Atom. Democritus, a philosopher who lived in Avdira of Thrace during the 5th – 4th century BC, first formulated (along with Leucippus) the “atom theory”.
